NEW YORK, APRIL 16, 2013 ― Atlas Media Corp, the New York-based TV production company, was informed today that Region 2 of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has dismissed all charges leveled at Atlas by the Writers Guild of America East (WGAE).  Five months ago, Atlas Media employees presented Atlas with a petition signed by the vast majority of WGAE bargaining unit members stating that they no longer wished to be represented by the WGAE.  After investigating the WGAE’s allegations concerning this employee petition, the labor board concluded that the employees and Atlas Media both had acted lawfully.  As a result, the WGAE no longer represents any Atlas employees.

“We are obviously pleased with this outcome,” said Atlas Media EVP/General Manager Jeanne McHale-Waite. “Our employees voiced to us that they didn’t want to be represented by the WGAE anymore.  We are happy that the NLRB ruled that Atlas did nothing wrong, but simply respected our employees’ wishes.  We can now all move on.”
