Atlas Media ups Lorri Leighton to SVP of programming
Atlas Media Corp. has upped Lorri Leighton, most recentlyVP of programming for the New York City-based prodco, to the position of senior VP of programming, effective immediately.
Leighton, a veteran programming executive who has worked on hundreds of hours of reality and documentary shows, will oversee all current programming at Atlas, with an emphasis on supervising showrunners, building production teams and serving as a liaison between the company and networks. She will report to Bruce David Klein, Atlas Media’s president and executive producer.
During her time at Atlas, Leighton has served as director of programming, where she supervised shows such as Dr G: Medical Examiner, and most recently was its vice president of programming. Other Atlas production credits include the Investigation Discovery series Stalked: Someone’s Watching and TLC’s Big Sexy. Prior to Atlas, she helped create unscripted shows such as TLC’s A Baby Story at True Entertainment.
“Over the last six years, Lorri has been one of our key creative executives, expertly overseeing a large portfolio of shows,” said Klein of the appointment. “She’s a much respected Atlas insider who has already, seamlessly, taken the reins of our programming department.”
